Eagle feeding and fighting off a hawk

So, Dana and I just waited for about an hour and a half to get some eagle pix. Just as we were about to leave, Dana sees an eagle approaching, talons down, dive toward the lake, scoop up a fish, fight off a hawk trying to steal it in mid air, land in a tree, and eat the fish, about 40 yards from us. Here is the result. Super blessed to have seen this in person, much less to have photographed it. God is good to me and mine.

Bald Eagle!

Happy new year, folks! I am starting off 2013 with some Bald Eagles. My old bossman Dan "Scum Frog" Cunningham called me yesterday afternoon and informed me of this beauty perched high atop a tree near his fishing hole at Lake Norris in Columbus, MS. I grabbed my gear, made the 3 minute trek from my office and shot these. I wish the sky had been blue, but I will certainly take these.
